PowerCats Wrestling Club Update (10/25)
Season starts Monday, November 4!

We’ve had a great turnout for sign-ups and lots of good questions — here are a few quick answers before we hit the mat:
-
Can my child wrestle at more than one club?
-
Yes! We encourage it — especially at the youth level. Different coaches and clubs offer new techniques and experiences that all help your wrestler grow.
-

-
What does my child need for practice?
-
A positive attitude, wrestling shoes, and trimmed fingernails. Practices build on each other, so try to make everyone! Athletic clothes (shorts and a T-shirt or compression gear) work best.
-

-
Does my child have to compete in tournaments?
-
No. Competition is optional. We see tournaments as the “tests” and practice as the “homework.” Wrestlers can compete when they feel ready — our focus is steady progress and confidence on the mat.

-
Can my child come check it out before registering?
-
Absolutely! Come meet the coaches and see the room. Our staff includes varsity-level high school coaches with over 15 years of experience, along with current high school wrestlers who love helping younger athletes. The mix allows for more one-on-one instruction and a positive learning environment.

-
What’s happening with the Niagara Street facility?
-
Our longtime home on 24th & Niagara Street — which has hosted the PowerCats for more than 20 years — will remain open! We’ll continue to hold Saturday morning practices there, and it will stay a year-round training space for our high school wrestlers.
